The dwellers of the wood belied Our-SWT envoys.

(26:176)

Ith qala lahum shuAAaybun ala tattaqoon(a)

When their brother Shu'aib-AS said to them: Fear you not?

(26:177)

Innee lakum rasoolun amen(un)

Verily I am unto you a trusted Messenger-AS

(26:178)

Fa(i)ttaqoo Allaha waateeAAoon(i)

So fear Allah-SWT and obey me.

(26:179)

Wama asalukum AAalayhi min ajrin in ajriya illa AAala rabbi alAAalameen(a)

And I ask you no wage; my wage is but with the Rabb-SWT of the worlds.

(26:180)

Awfoo alkayla wala takoonoo mina almukhsireen(a)

Give full measure, and be not of those who cause others to lose.

(26:181)

And weigh with a straight balance.

(26:182)

Wala tabkhasoo a(l)nnasa ashyaahum wala taAAthaw fee alardi mufsideen(a)

And defraud not people of their things, and commit not corruption on the earth.

(26:183)

Wa(i)ttaqoo allathee khalaqakum wa(a)ljibillata alawwaleen(a)

So fear Him-SWT Who created you and the former generations.

(26:184)

Qaloo innama anta mina almusahhareen(a)

They said: You-AS are but of the bewitched

(26:185)

And you-AS are but a human being like us, and we consider you-AS to be of the liars.

(26:186)

Faasqit AAalayna kisafan mina a(l)ssamai in kunta mina a(l)ssadiqeen(a)

So cause you-AS a fragment of the sky to fall upon us, if you-AS are of the truthful

(26:187)

Fakaththaboohu faakhathahum AAathabu yawmi a(l)ththullati innahu kana AAathaba yawmin AAatheem(in)

Then they belied him-AS. Wherefore there seized them torment of the Day of Shadow. Verily it was the torment of a mighty Day.

(26:189)

And verily your-SW Rabb-SWT ! He-SWT is the Mighty, the Merciful.

(26:191)

In The Name of Allah-SWT the Most Gracious, The Most Merciful
SECRETS OF REVELATION:

The dwellers in the woods also belied the Messenger-AS of Allah-SWT . They were the People of Prophet Shu'aib-AS who lived amidst beautiful forests. They have been termed as Ashab Al Aika which means ‘stationed in the forests.’ They were asked by the Prophet-AS to fear Allah-SWT and obey him-AS as he-AS had been raised by Him-SWT . He-AS told them that he-AS did not seek anything in return from them, neither wealth, nor any power. Rather he-AS expected his-AS wages from Allah-SWT Who was the Sustainer of the entire universe. This nation was guilty of not giving full measure in transactions. So he-AS reprimanded them against this dishonesty and advised them to give full measure keeping their balances straight.

Dishonesty In Measurement Forbidden

Measurement here refers to all the rights and duties. It encompasses business deals, paying the wages of a servant or labourer, diligent discharge of duties by a labourer or servant and purity in worship. The Prophet-AS told his-AS people to be fair in dealings and transactions with one another and not to usurp others' rights as it spreads mischief on earth, which indeed is a grave crime.

Islamic System Guarantees Peace And Security

The superiority of Islam lies in the fact that it safeguards the rights of each individual and demands diligent performance of duties from every member of the society. Therefore, a perfect picture of peace in history can only be seen under the Islamic rule.

However, the People of Prophet Shu'aib-AS alleged that someone had cast a spell on him-AS. They insisted on doing whatever they wanted with their money. Besides, he-AS was an ordinary man like them, how could he-AS be a Prophet? They thought he-AS was lying. If he really was Allah-SWT’s Prophet-AS he must topple a segment of the sky over them to support his-AS claim.

He-AS told them that a Prophet-AS's mission was to convey Allah-SWT’s Message, which he-AS was doing. The punishment or retribution was the domain of his-AS Rabb-SWT , Who was fully Aware of the deeds of every individual. But they did not listen to him-AS and were consequently seized with the doom of the Day of Clouds. It so happened that the temperature shot up enormously making life intolerable both indoors and outdoors. And in the nearby forest they observed the sky covered with clouds and a cool breeze blowing beneath. So they hurried to the spot. Suddenly the clouds began to pour down fire destroying all by the most awful doom.

This is also a story of admonition, yet a majority of people do not become believers. Although Allah-SWT is Potent over inflicting a doom, yet it is by His-SWT Mercy that respite is given to mankind.
