Surah Name: Al-Hajj Meaning: The Pilgrimage

  • Revealed at Makkah and Madinah
  • • This is a Surah full of wonders. Some of its Ayat were revealed ai Makkah while others at Madinah, both at night as well as in day time, during a journey and at home. Some were revealed in the battle field and some in peace time. And some of its Ayat are abrogative and others abrogated, some are allegorical while others clearly issue commands. In short, according to the learned Commentators this Surah is a collection of all the genres of revelation.

The last Section of the preceding Surah discussed the obduracy of the infidels and their inevitable humiliation in Akhirah, the raising of the Holy Prophet-SW as a mercy for all realms, the infidels' deprivation and their denial of the Day of Judgment. Towards the end it emphasized that it will come in any case, being Allah s Decision. This Surah, at the very outset, unfolds the horrifying ambience of al-Qayamah and prov ides logical arguments of its inevitability

bismillah

Layudkhilannahum mudkhalan yardawnahu wainna Allaha laAAaleemun haleem(un)

Of a surety He-SWT will make them enter an entrance with which they will be well-pleased, and Allah-SWT is Knowing, Forbearing

(22:59)

Wa(a)llatheena hajaroo fee sabeeli Allahi thumma qutiloo aw matoo layarzuqannahumu Allahu rizqan hasanan wainna Allaha lahuwa khayru a(l)rraziqeen(a)

And those who emigrated in the Way of Allah-SWT , and then they were slain or they died, surely Allah-SWT will provide them with a goodly provision; and surely Allah-SWT ! He-SWT is the Best Provider.

(22:58)

Layudkhilannahum mudkhalan yardawnahu wainna Allaha laAAaleemun haleem(un)

Of a surety He-SWT will make them enter an entrance with which they will be well-pleased, and Allah-SWT is Knowing, Forbearing

(22:59)

Thalika waman AAaqaba bimithli ma AAooqiba bihi thumma bughiya AAalayhi layansurannahu Allahu inna Allaha laAAafuwwun ghafoor(un)

That is so. And whoever chastises the like of what he was injured and then he has again been oppressed, surely Allah-SWT will succour him: verily Allah-SWT is Pardoning, Forgiving.

(22:60)

Thalika bianna Allaha yooliju allayla fee a(l)nnahari wayooliju a(l)nnahara fee allayli waanna Allaha sameeAAun baseer(un)

That is to be because Allah-SWT plunges night into day and plunges day into night, and because He-SWT is Hearing. Beholding.

(22:61)

Thalika bianna Allaha huwa alhaqqu waanna ma yadAAoona min doonihi huwa albatilu waanna Allaha huwa alAAaliyyu alkabeer(u)

That is because Allah-SWT ! He-SWT is the Truth, and what they call upon besides Him-SWT it is the false. Verily Allah-SWT ! He-SWT is the High, the Great.

(22:62)

Alam tara anna Allaha anzala mina a(l)ssamai maan fatusbihu alardu mukhdarratan inna Allaha lateefun khabeer(un)

Do you not see that Allah-SWT sends down water from the sky, and the earth becomes green? Verily Allah-SWT is Subtle. Aware.

(22:63)

Lahu ma fee a(l)ssamawati wama fee alardi wainna Allaha lahuwa alghaniyyu alhameed(u)

His-SWT is whatever is in the heavens and on the earth; and verily Allah-SWT ! He-SWT is the Self-sufficient, the Praiseworthy.

(22:64)

In The Name of Allah-SWT the Most Gracious, The Most Merciful
SECRETS OF REVELATION:

The Companions-RAU Provide First Example

Allah-SWT mentions those who made sacrifices in His-SWT Cause, left their homes in His-SWT obedience and yet the infidels did not spare them and waged a war against them. They either fell martyrs or died enroute. If there is to be no Akhirah, what do they have to gain out of all these sacrifices. Certainly there is Akhirah, and they will not be at loss at all Allah-SWT will bless them with abodes far superior and bounties far more pleasing than they enjoyed in this world Undoubtedly; Allah-SWT Alone is the Bestower of the best of rewards. There is nobody like them, nor can there ever be. Allah-SWT will admit them into the most exquisite place, which they will cherish. He-SWT is Aware of every situation and is very Clement. The outcome of every action is manifested at its proper time. Those who are wronged in the Cause of Allah-SWT , in time avenge their plight and ultimately get even with their oppressors. And if the infidels again resort to oppression, Allah-SWT is Potent over helping the believers again because a believer is never denied His-SWT Help. Undoubtedly, Allah-SWT is extremely Forgiving and Forbearing; it is the wretched infidel who does not reach out to His-SWT Mercy

It is also very evident that Allah-SWT Alone is controlling this Universal System He-SWT allows the night to enshroud the day and the day to overshadow the night If iniquity overpowers piety and establishes itself, it cannot prevail forever The beam of piety is destined to shine, and the believers shall gain dominance Allah-SWT need not ask anyone for information for He-SWT is Omniscient and all Hearing. He-SWT indeed is the Truth, and Divinity only befits Him-SWT and whatever is worshipped by the non believers besides Him-SWT is total falsehood. Just as nobody can dare interfere in the smooth alternation of day and night, nothing can thwart His-SWT Omnipotence in any matter. He-SWT is the Mightiest and the Only Sovereign Ruler of the Universe.

Man is a witness to how Allah-SWT lifts up vapour from the oceans and when He-SWT desires to satiate the land. He-SWT allows it to pour down from heights in the form of rain and paves the land with greenery. Undoubtedly, He-SWT is well Aware of the very intricate and most minute realities. Just as the land does not remain desolate for a prolonged period so do the Qulub of human beings. He-SWT is well Aware of their needs too, and all that lies between the earth and the heavens belongs to Him-SWT So who would know better than Him-SWT about the state everything is in. This indeed is befitting to His-SWT Grace Alone; all the rest depend on Him-SWT while He-SWT Alone is the Independent. In short, all eminence and merits befit only Him-SWT .
