By the morning brightness.

(93:1)

Wa(a)llayli itha saja

By the night, when it darkens.

(93:2)

Ma waddaAAaka rabbuka wama qala

Your Rabb-SWT has not forsaken you-SAAW, nor is He-SWT displeased.

(93:3)

Walalakhiratu khayrun laka mina aloola

And the Hereafter is indeed better for you-SAAW than the present life.

(93:4)

Walasawfa yuAAteeka rabbuka fatarda

And soon shall your Rabb-SWT give for you-SAAW so that you-SAAW shall be well-pleased.

(93:5)

Alam yajidka yateeman faawa

Did He-SWT not find you-SAAW an orphan? So he sheltered you-SAAW.

(93:6)

Wawajadaka dallan fahada

And He-SWT found you-SAAW wandering, so He-SWT guided you-SAAW.

(93:7)

Wawajadaka AAailan faaghna

And He-SWT found you destitute, so He-SWT enriched you.

(93:8)

Faamma alyateema fala taqhar

Wherefore as to the orphan, be not you overbearing to him.

(93:9)

Waamma a(l)ssaila fala tanhar

And as to the beggar, chide him not.

(93:10)

Waamma biniAAmati rabbika fahaddith

And as to the favours of your Rabb-SWT , discourse you thereof.

(93:11)

In The Name of Allah-SWT the Most Gracious, The Most Merciful
SECRETS OF REVELATION:

By the brightness of the day and enshrouding of the night! This refers to the fact that the day is inevitably followed by the night and vice versa.

Constriction and Expansion

This exactly is the situation with regard to states of the Qalb. At times the feelings of the Qalb are very strong and clear. This is a state of expansion. And at other times it is feelingless, in a state of constriction, which does not mean that this state shall prevail and will not be replaced by expansion. Once the Holy Prophet-SAAW did not receive revelation for some days and the pagans sarcastically commented that his-SAAW Rabb-SWT had abandoned him-SAAW. The answer was given by Allaah-SWT that He-SWT had neither abandoned nor was annoyed with him-SAAW, for he-SAAW indeed is innocent and His-SWT beloved Messenger-SAAW, the leader of all Prophets blessed directly with both extrinsic as well as intrinsic excellences without a parallel. Rather his-SAAW situation shall progress and improve by every fleeting moment.

The Holy Prophet-SAAW on Path of Progress Every Second

Right from the day he-SAAW was raised, he-SAAW is blessed with continuous rise in status. When in this world, each moment was marked with progress and while in Barzakh, he-SAAW is continuously receiving his-SAAW share of reward, for any righteous act done by anyone around the globe till the end of time being taught by him. The salutations of the angels and the Magnificent Rabb-SWT are in addition. And in the Field of Gathering, according to the Holy Prophet-SAAW, he-SAAW will be revealed more words to invoke His-SWT blessings.

This shows that he-SAAW will be progressing even there, while in Jannah his grace shall be the highest. Even an ordinary dweller of Jannah will progress by the moment. Same is the case with the seekers of Tasawwuf. They are constantly progressing provided they are resolute in their adherence to the Holy Prophet-SAAW, as this progress is regulated through him-SAAW.

The Holy Prophet-SAAW progressed in this world every day. Islam continued to spread and an independent Islamic State emerged at Madinah, followed by many victories. Infidelity was at the run and the programme of life revealed to him-SAAW continued to flourish. May Allaah-SWT awaken the contemporary Muslims as the prevailing pause in Islam's progress is making our claims of being Muslims dubious! And his Rabb-SWT will bless him-SAAW so much that he-SAAW will be pleased, both here as well as in the Hereafter, by making his-SAAW Ummah grow and by forgiving it respectively. Though the Holy Prophet-SAAW was an orphan by His-SWT Wisdom, yet he-SAAW was raised and nurtured with care by His-SWT favour. And being seeker of the Truth, Allaah-SWT guided him-SW at every step.

A Clarification

Strangely enough the translation generally rendered "found you wandering", gives rise to many questions. "Found you seeking, or searching" is the correct rendering. Just as everything in nature is impatient to get to its optimum excellence, for instance, a single bud is keen to develop into a full fledged flowering bud and then to blossom as a flower. Like wise, by his-SW noble nature, he-SW was anxious for the manifestation of Prophethood and would seclude to meditate for months, in Cave Hira. This anxiety is hinted at in the revelation that he was seeking so Allaah-SWT obliged him-SW.

Allah-SWT also found him-SW needy, having no pals, possessions or power and blessed him-SW with diehard followers in plenty as well as wealth and State power. So the best way of displaying gratitude by the Ummah for his-SW raising is that the rights of the orphans and the destitute are given to them and, under no circumstances, violated. The needy must not be impeded from fulfilling their needs, nor insulted by virtue of being human. This is mandatory for the entire Ummah forever.

Residence, Dress etc. must Match the Status

Allah-SWT's blessings must be acknowledged both by word of mouth as well as by disposition. These blessings, such as knowledge, State power, wealth must be pressed into service of mankind. And the lifestyle of a believer must be commensurate to what Allaah-SWT has blessed him with, in terms of residence, dress, means of transportation etc. for this falls under acknowledgement and appreciation of Allah-SWT's blessings.
