Surah Name: Al-Hijr Meaning: The Rock
|
فَلَمَّا جَاء آلَ لُوطٍ الْمُرْسَلُونَ Falamma jaa ala lootin almursaloon(a) Then when the sent ones entered into the household of Lut-AS. (15:61) |
قَالَ إِنَّكُمْ قَوْمٌ مُّنكَرُونَ Qala innakum qawmun munkaroon(a) He said: verily you are a people stranger. (15:62) |
قَالُواْ بَلْ جِئْنَاكَ بِمَا كَانُواْ فِيهِ يَمْتَرُونَ Qaloo bal jinaka bima kanoo feehi yamtaroon(a) They said: nay! We have come to you with that of which they have been doubting. (15:63) |
وَأَتَيْنَاكَ بَالْحَقِّ وَإِنَّا لَصَادِقُونَ Waataynaka bi(a)lhaqqi wainna lasadiqoon(a) And we have brought to you the truth, and verily we say the truth. (15:64) |
Faasri biahlika biqitAAin mina allayli wa(i)ttabiAA adbarahum wala yaltafit minkum ahadun wa(i)mdoo haythu tumaroon(a) So set forth you with your household in a portion of the night, and follow you their back, and let not one of you look back, and pass to where you are Commanded. (15:65) |
وَقَضَيْنَا إِلَيْهِ ذَلِكَ الأَمْرَ أَنَّ دَابِرَ هَؤُلاء مَقْطُوعٌ مُّصْبِحِينَ Waqadayna ilayhi thalika alamra anna dabira haolai maqtooAAun musbiheen(a) And We-SWT decreed to him this Commandment because the root of those was to be cut off in the early morning. (15:66) |
وَجَاء أَهْلُ الْمَدِينَةِ يَسْتَبْشِرُونَ Wajaa ahlu almadeenati yastabshiroon(a) And there came the people of the city rejoicing. (15:67) |
قَالَ إِنَّ هَؤُلاء ضَيْفِي فَلاَ تَفْضَحُونِ Qala inna haolai dayfee fala tafdahoon(i) He said: verily these are my guests, so humiliate me not. (15:68) |
وَاتَّقُوا اللّهَ وَلاَ تُخْزُونِ Wa(i)ttaqoo Allaha wala tukhzoon(i) And fear Allah-SWT, and disgrace me not. (15:69) |
قَالُوا أَوَلَمْ نَنْهَكَ عَنِ الْعَالَمِينَ Qaloo awalam nanhaka AAani alAAalameen(a) They said: had we not forbidden you against the outside world? (15:70) |
قَالَ هَؤُلاء بَنَاتِي إِن كُنتُمْ فَاعِلِينَ Qala haolai banatee in kuntum faAAileen(a) He said: these are my daughters, if act you must. (15:71) |
لَعَمْرُكَ إِنَّهُمْ لَفِي سَكْرَتِهِمْ يَعْمَهُونَ LaAAamruka innahum lafee sakratihim yaAAmahoona By your life, in their intoxication; they were wandering bewildered. (15:72) |
فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ الصَّيْحَةُ مُشْرِقِينَ Faakhathathumu a(l)ssayhatu mushriqeen(a) Then the shout took hold of them at the sunrise. (15:73) |
فَجَعَلْنَا عَالِيَهَا سَافِلَهَا وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ حِجَارَةً مِّن سِجِّيلٍ FajaAAalna AAaliyaha safilaha waamtarna AAalayhim hijaratan min sijjeel(in) And We-SWT made the upside thereof downwards, and We-SWT rained on them stones of baked clay. (15:74) |
إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لآيَاتٍ لِّلْمُتَوَسِّمِينَ Inna fee thalika laayatin lilmutawassimeena Lo! therein verily are portents for those who read the signs. (15:75) |
Wainnaha labisabeelin muqeem(in) And verily they are on a path way lasting. (15:76) |
إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لآيَةً لِّلْمُؤمِنِينَ Inna fee thalika laayatan lilmumineen(a) Verily in that is a Sign for the believers. (15:77) |
وَإِن كَانَ أَصْحَابُ الأَيْكَةِ لَظَالِمِينَ Wain kana ashabu alaykati lathalimeen(a) And the dwellers of the wood surely were wrongdoers. (15:78) |
فَانتَقَمْنَا مِنْهُمْ وَإِنَّهُمَا لَبِإِمَامٍ مُّبِينٍ Fa(i)ntaqamna minhum wainnahuma labiimamin mubeen(in) So We-SWT took vengeance on them. And verily both are on a high road open. (15:79) |
